Fortinet Extends Commitment to Enterprise Customers With Enhanced Professional and Educational Services

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/26/11 -- Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) -- a leading network security provider and the worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -- today announced updated global professional and educational services for its growing enterprise customer base. Many times, companies have large projects or implementations that require expert technical resources to meet deadlines and to complete a Fortinet product implementation with minimal issues. The newly-developed, real-time online training courses and packaged professional services provide enterprise customers with enhanced security expertise that enables a faster time to implementation.

Real-Time Online Training
While Fortinet has historically maintained a compelling onsite training program, the company has augmented this to include real-time online training. New features of the real-time online training courses include a fully-interactive online campus and virtual lab infrastructure, which offers all of the advantages of classroom training without the hassle and expense of travel.

The instructor-led classes feature live video feeds, interactive question and answer sessions, rich media materials and the same lab exercises Fortinet uses for classroom training. This online classroom approach, which offers the same content found in today's onsite classrooms, gives enterprise customers more flexibility in scheduling training and reduces the burden on their operational support staff, as they can take the courses from their offices.

Fortinet's real-time online training is available now through the company's online campus.

"Fortinet's real-time online training worked well, and with high-quality video and audio, the labs were particularly useful and the instructor was excellent," said Dave Crockett, Security Solutions Architect at Green Pages Technology Solutions. "I got the training I needed -- and didn't have to leave my office."

Professional Services Simplified
In addition to the robust online training courses, Fortinet launched a number of simplified packaged professional services, which provide configuration and migration assistance to end users directly from Fortinet professional services engineers who are highly knowledgeable across the broad arena of networking and data communications. The engineers have deep skills in all aspects of security technologies, including competitive hardware and most common network hardware, and they have expertise utilizing industry standard tools in addition to Fortinet's own FortiGate®, FortiManager™, FortiAnalyzer™, FortiWeb™, FortiScan™, and FortiDB™.

The new professional services portfolio includes:

  • Experienced Consultants -- Highly-skilled Fortinet engineering resources that can solve difficult technical issues and deploy complex architectural designs and implementations
  • Direct and Fast Interface into Fortinet -- Professional service consultants have direct access to Fortinet developers and support resources to ensure a complete, precise and timely solution and a successful service engagement
  • Professional Services Toolbox -- Consultants come with access to a living toolbox of scripts, architectures and configurations of proven designs and implementations for Fortinet solutions
  • Communications and Reporting -- Professional services consultants will provide an initial statement of work for engagements as well as project phases

Fortinet's professional services are available for purchase through authorized Fortinet distributors and by authorized Fortinet partners. To receive the services, end users must have an active support contract for the Fortinet product(s) utilized in the service.

"The new services we're announcing today were specifically designed to help our enterprise customers realize the benefits of Fortinet's solutions faster by simplifying implementation and deployment," said Michael Anderson, vice president of services at Fortinet. "With Fortinet's convenient online training, enterprise operations staff will be able to thoroughly leverage all the features of our products, increasing security and reducing operational costs."
