Telekom Deutschland Relies on Fortinet UTM Solutions for Its "Business Network Protect" Offering

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 11/09/10 -- Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) -- a leading network security provider and a worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -- today announced that it has become a new contractual partner of Telekom Deutschland GmbH, a fixed-network and mobile communications provider, part of Deutsche Telekom. Fortinet will provide its FortiGate® UTM solution for the "Business Network Protect" offering of Telekom Deutschland, which addresses the network requirements of small- and medium-sized enterprises with up to 1,000 employees, and delivers security solutions that were previously available for large enterprises with complex IT infrastructures only.

With Fortinet's FortiGate UTM appliances, Telekom Deutschland is able to enhance their customers' network security even more. FortiGate appliances provide SMBs with integrated firewall and VPN functions (IPSec and SSL), intrusion prevention/detection, antivirus, antispyware, antispam and web filtering technologies, application control, data loss prevention, dynamic routing, endpoint NAC, SSL inspection and WAN optimization, and thus offer comprehensive security options at the enterprise level to protect networks from Internet threats.

The "Business Network Protect" offering of Telekom Deutschland specifically targets small- and medium-sized companies planning to implement a modern security infrastructure. The offer includes the protection of remote and home offices as well as laptops, smart phones, Web-2.0 applications, and shared networks.

"Fortinet is one of only a few vendors offering the whole range of content and network security under one umbrella. With our appliances, Telekom customers now have the choice to implement customized security solutions on only one platform. Customers can decide on their own which functionalities should be activated, thus maintaining flexibility and scalability," said Patrice Perche, senior vice president of sales and support at Fortinet. "As the new contractual partner of Telekom Deutschland, we are looking forward to further supporting SMBs with consolidated network security."

Telekom Deutschland's "Business Network Protect" has already been implemented in various customers' networks and is available upon request.
