Fujitsu Canada Deploys Fortinet's Network Security Appliances

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/13/10 -- Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) -- a leading network security provider and the worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -- today announced Fujitsu Canada has deployed FortiGate® network security appliances to help protect its Quebec networks. Fortinet was selected because of the FortiGate appliances' reliability, strong Web content filtering functionality, unlimited per-user SSL VPN licensing and industry leading firewall and VPN throughput.

Fujitsu Canada's parent company, Fujitsu, is ranked the world's third largest IT services provider. Fujitsu Canada's strength comes from pooling the assets of Fujitsu and DMR, a Quebec-based IT market leader since 1973. Fujitsu Canada is known for its ability to harness the power of IT for its customers' business, to build innovative practices and solutions.

When looking for a new network security solution to replace its firewall solutions, Fujitsu Canada looked at vendors such as Fortinet, SonicWALL and WatchGuard. Some of the key requirements Fujitsu Canada had were: a robust solution that allowed for flexibility for its complicated network environment which includes multiple Internet addresses and a low total cost of ownership, especially when it came to maintenance costs.

Fujitsu Canada has deployed FortiGate-200B appliances at its Quebec City office. The FortiGate appliances are helping remote users to securely SSL VPN into the project networks. To easily manage the appliances, Fujitsu Canada has deployed a FortiAnalyzer™-100C appliance that aggregates all log data and easily manages and analyzes all FortiGate appliances deployed throughout the network.

"The transition from previous firewalls to Fortinet firewalls was incredibly easy for us," said Frederic Abel, IT analyst and architect at Fujitsu Canada's Quebec City office. "By deploying Fortinet in our network, our users are easily able to connect to the network via SSL VPN while Fortinet helps ensure that the network is protected from malicious multifaceted attacks."

"Fortinet has a strong presence throughout Canada and wins such as Fujitsu Canada are further proof of that," said Graham Bushkes, vice president, Canada Sales for Fortinet. "No matter if there's a distributed enterprise to secure or a core network to secure, Fortinet's end-to-end security appliances will fit any network."
