Fortinet(R)'s FortiMail Wins SC Magazine 5 Star Award and Recommended Rating

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/12/13 -- Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) -- a world leader in high-performance network security -- today announced the company's FortiMail-200D was honored by SC Magazine with a five star (out of five stars) award and "Recommended" rating in the magazine's latest email appliance roundup published on September 3, 2013. The appliance won perfect five star marks in the categories of Features, Ease of Use, Performance, Support and Value for Money. In a head-to-head comparison against eight email security appliances from competitors such as Cisco, McAfee, Barracuda Symantec, and WatchGuard, SC Magazine reviewer, Peter Stephenson wrote, "... we found this solution to be an excellent value for the money. While it may be designed for smaller branch office environments, it has the features and functionality of a large enterprise-class mail security appliance." In addition, he found the interface "... to be well-organized with a clean layout and intuitive controls."

About the FortiMail-200D

The FortiMail-200D delivers highly effective bi-directional antispam and antimalware capability to shield organizations and end users from unwanted and malicious messages. In June this year, FortiMail earned a Virus Bulletin VBSpam+ Certification based on high spam catch rate and zero false positives. This was FortiMail's 24th consecutive Virus Bulletin award.

It also offers integrated data leak prevention (DLP) and identity-based encryption with, as Stephenson notes in his review, "... email security and data leakage policy templates onboard and ready to go right out of the box."

Email archiving rounds out a robust feature set which, like other products in the FortiMail family, is available via a flat device-based licensing that ensures organizations can grow their secure messaging deployments without incurring costly user-based licensing fees.

"It's really gratifying to put so much hard work and resources into a product and see it get validated by well-respected publications such as SC Magazine and Virus Bulletin," said John Maddison, vice president of marketing for Fortinet. "With many traditional email security providers faltering, we see a meaningful opportunity and intend to continue to innovate on our email security appliance platform."
