About the FortiGate-5140B
The FortiGate-5140B offers superior performance, reliability and scalability for high-speed service providers, large enterprises or telecommunications carrier networks. The FortiGate-5140B, running our latest FortiGate-5001B security blade, was named "World's Fastest Firewall" after delivering 559 Gbps firewall throughput in an independent test by BreakingPoint Systems, Inc. Native 10-GbE support and a highly-flexible AdvancedTCA™ (ATCA)-compliant architecture enable the FortiGate-5140B to protect today's dynamic, cloud-based, multi-tenant security-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service environments. The FortiGate-5140B supports up to fourteen blades, allowing customers to customize and scale their security solution for their unique environments. With IPv6 performance expected to exceed 500 Gbps, the FortiGate-5140B will also be the world's fastest IPv6 firewall. The security blades also integrate with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer systems to provide centralized command with rich analytics and reporting to help security managers stay fully current with evolving security needs.

About the FortiGate-1000C
The FortiGate-1000C integrates essential security and networking functions into a single device to help mid-enterprise networks and branch offices of large enterprises identify and thwart the targeted attacks they face. The FortiGate-1000C delivers the performance, deployment flexibility and future-ready technology today's mid-enterprise networks need. With numerous accelerated interfaces, organizations can create multiple security zones for various departments, users, access methods and even devices to enforce network security at accelerated speeds.

To help secure Wi-Fi connections, the FortiGate-1000C features an integrated wireless controller. Similar to wired traffic management, the wireless LAN controller in the FortiGate-1000C manages wireless traffic. Role-based firewall policies, protocol-level network access and application-based traffic shaping are examples of the granular control policies provided by the FortiGate-1000C. Without requiring another set of devices to control wireless traffic, customers benefit from both simplified network architecture and an integrated approach to security.

To showcase the wireless controller capabilities of the FortiGate-1000C, Fortinet is offering a free FortiAP-221B wireless access point with the purchase of any FortiGate-1000C bundle.

To accommodate flexible deployment and expansion options, the FortiGate-1000C provides two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, twelve 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports, eight shared 10/100/1000 RF-45 or 1 G SFP ports, two pairs of bypass-protected 10/100/1000 ports, as well as dual AC power supplies. The 128GB of onboard flash memory enables on-board report generation, data archiving and WAN optimization. WAN optimization eliminates unnecessary and malicious traffic, optimizes legitimate traffic and reduces the amount of bandwidth required to transmit data between applications and servers. The FortiGate-1000C also features advanced application control that enables administrators to define and enforce policies for thousands of applications running across networks regardless of port or the protocol used for communication.
