Fortinet's FortiMail Earns Certification for Virus Bulletin's May 2010 Comparative Anti-Spam Test

SUNNYVALE, CA, May 13, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Fortinet(R) (NASDAQ: FTNT) -- a leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -- today announced that its FortiMail(TM) messaging security appliance has been awarded its sixth Virus Bulletin certification in the VBSpam Awards.

Virus Bulletin staff tested FortiMail among 19 other anti-spam products for their spam detection rates and the number of false positives. The Virus Bulletin report noted that the FortiMail appliance won the VBSpam award "without difficulty" and credited Fortinet's development team with keeping up with the latest trends in email security and spam.

"We are pleased that FortiMail's strong anti-spam capabilities have been validated by a sixth VBSpam award," said Patrick Bedwell, vice president of product marketing at Fortinet. "Customers are looking for a robust anti-spam solution that effectively tackles the mountains of spam that can clog their networks and cause security risks.
